In most cases, no. The majority of garden rooms fall under Permitted Development rights, meaning you won’t need to apply for planning permission. However, there are some exceptions — for example, if your property is in a conservation area, is a listed building, or if the structure exceeds certain size limits. We’ll advise you on this during your free consultation so you know exactly where you stand before any work begins.
Once the design has been agreed and materials are ordered, most garden rooms take between one and three weeks to complete, depending on the size and complexity of the build. We’ll give you a clear timeline upfront so you know exactly what to expect.
Absolutely. All of our garden rooms are fully insulated with 100mm insulation throughout the walls, floor, and ceiling, and fitted with high-performance double glazing. This means your garden room is warm in winter, cool in summer, and comfortable every day of the year.
Every garden room we build is fully bespoke, so the size is led by your requirements and the available space in your garden. We’ll visit your property and work with you to find the best dimensions for your plot. For Permitted Development purposes, garden rooms must generally be single storey and no taller than 2.5 metres if within 2 metres of a boundary — we’ll walk you through all of this during your consultation.
Yes. We manage the entire process from start to finish, including all groundworks and the preparation of a solid, level base for your garden room. You don’t need to organise anything separately — we take care of it all.
Yes, and we’d highly recommend it. Electrical installation, lighting, heating, and data points can all be included in your build. Just let us know what you need and we’ll factor it into your design and quote from the outset.
